Choose by terminal and concourse, not just “Dubai airport”. Dubai International Hotel is in Terminal 3; sleepover has locations in T3 A, B and C and T1 D. DXB and DWC are different airports.

Schematic process, not a terminal map. Your airline’s itinerary-specific instructions take priority.
Official access & transfer instructionsUse your concourse as the starting point
At DXB, Terminal 3 contains several concourses. For a family or a tired traveller, the useful question is which facilities are on the route to the next gate.
A family stop at B Gates
Dubai Airports lists the DXB Family Zone in Terminal 3’s B-Gates departure area, with activities for children and benches for accompanying adults. Consider it when B is already on your accessible route; it is not a reason to ignore a gate in another concourse.
A break in A, B, C or D
The airport lists sleepover locations across T3 A/B/C and T1 D. Select the actual concourse rather than just “Dubai” in a booking search. A short rest can become less useful if it adds a long return journey to your gate.
An airport change to DWC
DWC is Al Maktoum International, not another DXB concourse. If those codes differ between flights, solve entry and ground transport first. An airside DXB facility cannot be assumed accessible after the airport change.
Keep terminal, concourse and gate as three separate fields in your travel notes. They answer different navigation questions.
Terminals & airport transfers
Choose the route for your itinerary. Public road directions do not describe restricted airport corridors.
DXB terminals and concourses
Airline-directed terminal transferT3 has A, B and C concourses; T2 needs its own transfer instructions. Confirm the route with the airline or an airport Guest Experience Ambassador. A public map cannot establish that you are allowed through a particular airside route.
DXB ↔ DWC
Taxi or planned public-transport journeyDubai Airports instructs passengers changing airports to clear passport control, collect baggage and arrange onward transport. A taxi is the direct option. Check current public-transport connections before choosing them, especially overnight. Do not assume that a temporary free airport shuttle advertised for a past runway closure still operates.
Know before you settle in
Leave bags at the right arrivals desk
Dubai Airports currently lists 24/7 short-term storage in Terminals 1, 2 and 3. In T1, find dnata baggage services on the Arrivals level near Boots and Etisalat. In T3, Emirates Left Luggage is on Arrivals near Exit 1, behind Boots. These arrivals facilities require public-side access; confirm acceptance and charges for your particular bags.
Official information ↗Checked 2026-10-20The Metro is not an overnight service
The Red Line serves DXB Terminals 1 and 3. Dubai Airports publishes network operating hours of 05:00–midnight Monday–Thursday and Saturday, 05:00–01:00 Friday, and 08:00–midnight Sunday. These are not the last departures from your airport platform. Check RTA journey planning for your station, direction and date, and budget for a taxi when trains are unavailable.

Personal checklist & offline guide
Your personal checklist

What matters most at DXB
Choose by terminal and concourse, not just “Dubai airport”. Dubai International Hotel is in Terminal 3; sleepover has locations in T3 A, B and C and T1 D. DXB and DWC are different airports.
Follow the right transfer route
Use the terminal and concourse on your onward boarding pass. A connection involving Terminal 2 needs its own transfer instructions; do not assume all facilities in Terminal 3 are available to every DXB passenger.
Where to rest between flights
Compare a hotel room with a shorter sleepover booking. The location is decisive: choose the concourse you can access and include the return route to the departure gate in your time budget.
The booking mistake to avoid
Dubai World Central (DWC) is not another terminal at DXB. A change of airport requires landside transport and appropriate entry permission.
